Nunsense at Gera Spirited AccompanimentNot to be forgotten is the Bible TV Band recruited from members of the Philharmonic Orchestra which, under the direction of Bernhard Ott, supplied the necessary spirited accompaniment so that this ?Non(n)sens? could be somewhat endured. 2006-12-18, Osterländer Volkszeitung (Uschi Lenk) Above All Have a Good Time! Fun and spirited music making could be heard in the Bible TV Band (members of the Philharmonic Orchestra Altenburg-Gera) under the direction of Bernhard Ott. In Gera and its environs, word has quickly spread that ?Non(n)sens? is a real hit? 2006-01-01, Der neue Merker (Chr. Suhre)

Gentle Expressive Tones The Underworld is a half world, filled with bacchanal lascivious figures who, however, put Orfeo?s skill to the test. Sensually discreet: a mass orgy in Ÿ time. This was one of several intermezzi, where the Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Bernhard Ott delivered gentle expressive tones. Altogether this is a well- knit performance in which the spatial divisions offer a further interesting aspect. The opera chorus (Bernhard Ott) is fantastic and celebrates with heavenly sounds. This performance in Italian is certainly courageous and stimulating. 2006-12-11, Thüringer Allgemeine (Dr. Ursula Mielke) Orfeo ed Euridice is a success at the Bühne am Park ?Bernhard Ott is responsible for the evening?s music and, along with an excellent solo ensemble and a beautiful sounding chorus, he shows his orchestra beginning the path to which he lead them, that is historical performance practice. 2006-12-03, OTZ (Dr. Tatjana Boehme-Mehner) Do Not Turn Around? What an opera chorus is capable of is brilliantly displayed in the reconstruction of the ?Parma Edition? by Chr. W. Gluck?s Orfeo ed Euridice?. In this Gera and Altenburg production, the chorus members at the earthly beginning play not only themselves in a pub but also completely mutate into furies in the depths? Bernhard Ott, their maestro, utilized the score, which originated between the Vienna edition (1762) and the final Paris edition (1774). For more than 40 years its publication has been planned but those in charge of the project, in part highly respected music researchers, could not achieve this. And now this coup proved to be a stroke of luck. The German city theatre is still capable of a surprise. But apparently it is more likely to come from the outer edges than the centre. 2006-11-01, Oper & Tanz (Frieder Reininghaus) A complete operatic pleasure Conductor Bernhard Ott prepared the performance material himself from the sources and superbly led both the orchestra and singers through the evening. 2006-12-05, TLZ (Katharina Hofmann)

Captivated and with Ecstatic Enthusiasm This chorus was really well prepared this time which can only be contributed to the preparation by the chorus master. The sopranos mastered the difficult highs as well as the long held high a; the tenors and basses the monophonic principle melody. They seemed captivated and filled with ecstatic enthusiasm as they performed, together with the orchestra, the finale of this victory symphony. The applause would not stop. 2006-01-03, Osterländer Volkszeitung (Manfred Hainich)

Schweyk sends greetings ?an excellent unified ensemble, which together with the huge sounding chorus (prepared by Bernhard Ott) can be seen as the star of the evening. 2004-11-15, Thüringer Landeszeitung (Hans-Jürgen Thiers) 2004-11-29, Der Standard (Jörn Florian Fuchs) Fantastic Dream World of Life on the Moon The audience rewarded the convincing vocal and, above all, acting skills of the singers at the well attended premiere with much applause and enthusiastic bravos. The strong and full voiced chorus made even clearer the threatening situation for, above all, Brouček. 2004-11-19, Neues Gera (Christine Schimmel) 2004-11-16, Neues Deutschland (Werner Wolf) 2004-11-15, Thüringer Allgemeine (Joachim Lange)

Behind the scenes Among the smaller roles, notable was Nicole Oberüber as Flora with her smooth timbre. The same can be said for the chorus, which indulged itself with abandon on Verdis? opulent swinging melodies. A pleasant contrast was heard between the chorus of smug gypsy women and the answer of the men swinging their riding crops. 2004-11-02, Thüringer Allgemeine (Dr. Ursula Mielke) New Era for the Chorus in Altenburg-Gera A new era began for the chorus. Prepared by Tarmo Vaask and Bernhard Ott, they performed with a strong tone and the linguistic agility necessary for the flowing tempi chosen by assistant conductor Christoph Slowinski. 2004-09-20, Thüringer Landeszeitung (Hans-Jürgen Thiers)
